The European Union Parliament has endorsed Nigeria’s Ngozi Okonjo Iweala for the position of World Trade Organization Director.
This was announced by Sven Simon who is a member of the European Union Parliament on his verified Twitter handle.
“I am pleased to announce, that the @Europarl_EN is endorsing @NOIweala as the Director-General of the @WTO. After our joint hearing on Monday we are convinced by her vision for the future of multilateralism and advise WTO members to support her bid” he tweeted.
The Parliament noted that they were impressed by the aspirations of Ngozi especially her plan in Unitinc different countries in achieving the parliament’s goal.
The parliament also urged the European Union to support the ambition of Ngozi Iweala in the final round stating that she has the needed experience and plans for the parliament at this crucial time.
