The U. K parliament has voted in favour of the Government’s considerations to impose sanctions on Nigerian officials allegedly involved in the excessive use of force against Citizens During last months #EndSARS protests.
The vote which is non-binding, came as a result of petitions submitted to the U. K parliament which was signed by over 220,000 people.
The Nigerian security authorities have constantly denied the use of violence against peaceful protesters. Members of the parliament have blasted the Buhari-led administration for the use of force and intimidation against citizens, which led to the killing of many Nigerians at the Lekki Toll gate.
