EndSARS : Nationwide Protests Continue In Nigeria

 

Nigerian Youths have continued to protest against the Special Anti-Robbery squad popularly known as SARS.
This is coming after the government announced scrapping of the unit in an effort to yield to the demands of the people.

Many Nigerian youths have however stated that this announcement is not binding until the President makes the announcement himself.

According to a tweet by the verified handle of Amnesty International, SARS has been scrapped on television, this tweet shows what many young Nigerians who are doubting the sincerity of the government are facing.

Protests as at the time of this report are ongoing at Lagos state, Abuja, Owerri among other places in Nigeria.
Nigerians in diaspora have also joined their voice calling for the President to issue an Executive order legalizing the abolition of Special Anti-Robbery squad.

The Minister of Police Affairs, Muhammad Maigari, appealed to the Nigerian Youths to see the efforts of the government has genuine, although many youths called him bluff stating that he did not say anything until the issue got out of hand.

In Lagos, the Lekki Toll gate way has been blocked by protesters with many persons unable to return to work.
