The Government of Imo state is set to inaugurate ‘Panel of Inquiry’ to investigate the alleged corrupt practice, alleged excessive use of force by the police and brutalities melted out on innocent Imo citizens.
The inauguration will hold at the Sam Mbakwe Exco Chambers, Government House, Owerri.
This was made known in a post on the official Facebook page of the executive governor of Imo state, Senator Hope Uzodimma.
The Panel of Inquiry will identify all those who have made claims of police brutality, investigate them and make appropriate recommendations, including possible compensations and sanctions. The panel will further examine existing police structures in the country, including the remuneration regime and make recommendations for comprehensive reforms in the police to ensure effective and efficient service delivery.
Members of the panel include; Justice Duruoha Igwe Rtd (Chairman); Mr. Allenbi Onyemaechi; Barr Chima Anozie; President National Youth Council of Nigeria, Imo state; Chief Titus Uzor; Chibuike Ogboma; Belusochukwu Nwere; The Chairman Christian Council of Nigeria, Imo state; Victor Nwachukwu; The President National Council of Women Society, Imo state; Rep of Youths in the 3 Senatorial zones in the state and Barr. Chris Obialor (Secretary).
