Emir of Zazzau Dies At 84

Emir of Zazzau, Alhaji Shehu Idris has died on his way to a London Hospital to treat a protracted illness, aged 84.
According to the Son of the Emir, Aminu Shehu Idris, his father died in Kaduna on his way to a London Hospital for treatement of the illness.
He futher explained that his father had been battling with the illness for a decade before death snatched him away.
Alhaji Shehu Idris is the 18th Fulani Emir of Zazzau, he was appointed on 15th February, 1975 and spent 45 years on the throne.
Former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar took to his Twitter page to express condolences to the Shehu Idris family, the Zazzau Emirate council and people of Kaduna.
Also, the former lawmaker representing Kaduna Central senatorial district, Senator Shehu Sani took to his Twitter page to express shock about the death of the Emir, describing him as pillar of transformation and a bridge between religion, culture and modernity.
