Diaspora Alliance Accuses President Tinubu of Obstructing Justice, Risking Regional Conflicts
The Diaspora Alliance, known for its tireless advocacy on behalf of Nigerians living abroad, has made serious allegations against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
In a strongly worded communiqué made available to Excel Magazine International on Saturday, the Alliance expressed deep concern over President Tinubu’s recent actions.
The Alliance accused President Tinubu of intimidating the Presidential Appeal Court Tribunal, obstructing the course of justice, and potentially escalating regional tensions.
These allegations stem from President Tinubu’s warnings of potential chaos in the event of the presidential election’s nullification due to 25% Federal Capital Territory (FCT) votes.
The Alliance strongly condemned these remarks as veiled threats and an affront to the integrity of the judiciary.
Emmanuel Ihim, Esq, President of Diaspora Alliance, USA, emphasized that the rule of law places individual rights at the forefront, fostering liberty, stability, safety, and responsibility.
He stressed that justice should not only be carried out but also be perceived as fair and impartial.
Ihim urged the justices of the Presidential Appeal Court Tribunal and the Supreme Court to uphold the Constitution, dispense justice without fear or favor, and resist any attempts at intimidation.
The Alliance also raised concerns about President Tinubu’s actions concerning neighboring Niger, suggesting they conflict with his role in promoting West African stability.
They stressed that any considerations of military intervention in Niger should adhere to constitutional processes and receive legislative approvals from ECOWAS member countries.
In lieu of aggression, the Alliance called for a peaceful approach, advocating for dialogue and diplomacy.
They urged all Nigerians, both at home and abroad, to unite in safeguarding democracy and justice.
The communiqué concluded with a passionate call to action, urging Nigerians to stand united in defense of democracy, justice, and the rule of law, envisioning a Nigeria where these fundamental principles flourish.
The communiqué was signed by prominent members of the group, including Emmanuel Ihim, Esq, Rachard Namme, Engr Paul Nwachukwu, and Prince Charles Onyiuke.
