Delta State Governor Mourns J.P. Clark

Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, the Governor of Delta State Nigeria has sent his condolences to the family of the Late Poet and Writer, Prof. John Pepper Clark who died in the early hours of Tuesday.

The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Olisa Ifeajika said in Asaba the state capital that the literary world has lost a great man whose works will continue to dominate the present Nigerian society.

The State governor spoke of the wonderful contributions of the late writer to the progress and development of Literary works in Nigeria and Africa.

“The Literary works of Professor J.P. Clark, promoted Delta, Nigeria and Africa, hence his demise was being celebrated by lovers of Literature all over the world”, Okowa said in his statement.

The governor further explained that the late Professor was a great literary icon whose works inspired sound thoughts especially in areas of social-economic and political themes.

“He will be sorely missed by all whose lives he affected in many ways with his literary works”, he said.

The governor encouraged all who mourn the renowned writer to always take solace in the fact that his works remain in our hearts.

Okowa commiserates with the entire family of Clark-Fuludu Bekederemo over the death of the playwright.
