Dangote opens Africa Centre in New York

Business mogul, Aliko Dangote, has opened The Africa Centre in New York. The Centre, which is essentially built by Dangote, is will be managed by the Aliko Dangote Foundation.

The Foundation would be supporting the Centre to focus on policy, business, and culture collaboration between Africa and US, to help change the present trajectory narratives about Africa’s economic and cultural diversity and project into Africa’s future.

Shortly after it was officially commissioned, the Centre held its inaugural event tagged: Africa Future Summit organized by the Aliko Dangote Foundation.

Dangote and his friends, Mo Ibrahim and Bill Gates deliberated extensively on future of Africa and expressed their commitment to do more to support the continent.

Some of the dignitaries that attended the commissioning/summit include: Governors Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Dapo Abiodun, Godwin Obaseki, and AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, of Lagos, Ogun, Edo and Kwara states respectively.

Others are: Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi; President, African Development Bank, Akinwumi Adesina; Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Niyi Adebayo.

Business tycoon, Femi Otedola; Chairman, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa; among others also present at the occasion.

The summit was held on the sidelines of the ongoing United Nations General Assembly in New York.
