COVID-19: UN Refugee Chief Test Positive

In a tweet, the United Nations Refugee Chief stated that he had tested positive for COVID-19, after he led the first 2 days of the agency’s main annual meeting in person.

In his tweet, “I am engaging with UNHCR’s Executive Committee from home as I have to isolate after testing positive to #COVID-19, I only have mild symptoms and hope to recover soon.”

The UNHCR’s executive committee is being held for the first time as a hybrid event this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic with the numbers of delegate allowed to attend physically limited and distancing restrictions and mask requirements in place.
