Kano State Governor, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, on Thursday,  described Corruption, as a menace, killing the fabrics of the country, emphasizing that, unless the bull is held by the horn, the country is doomed.

The Secretary to State the Government, Alhaji Usman Ahaji, who represented Gandue at the inauguration of the State Anti-Corruption Strategy Steering Committee of the Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC), said it is the most important committee to be inaugurated in the fight against corruption.

According to Ganduje, the task of the committee members, among others, is to roll out strategies, which the good people of Kano will use to lodge complaints, either against the government, groups or corporate bodies.

”It is only in Kano that Anti-Corruption campaign work like the one established at the  Federal level. I remember vividly that two State Commissioners and Permanent Secretaries lost their positions, due to the operations of the Anti-Corruption Commission. It means that there is no sacrificial lamb, as whoever is found wanting is dealt with accordingly.

”That clearly indicates that the State Anti-Corruption body is working, believe it or not, Corruption is killing all of us.”
Also, he pointed out that the State Governor does not interfere in their operations, as the State Government gives them a free hand to operate.
In addition, Governor Ganduje appreciated the efforts of the current Executive Chairman of the Commission, Barrister Muhuyi  Magaji Rimingado, in the fight against corruption, stressing that he is making a headway.

Earlier, Barrister Rimingado, reiterated the resolve and the determination of the Commission, to make Kano a corruption-free state, promising that he will not be deterred in fighting corruption to a standstill.

Furthermore, Rimingado commended the State Governor for having confidence in the Commission’s efforts in fighting corruption.
