Controversy over NANS Visit to Buhari

There is a raging controversy over the visit of the National Association of Nigerian Students to President Buhari over the lingering ASUU Strike.

Different Nigerians who spoke on social media about the visit condemned the body for allegedly not putting interest of Nigerian Students at heart .

A social media user Segun Adetunde said

“The visit does not only show shallowness of the body but insincerity of the current administration towards Education ” he noted

Another commentator Olufemi Samuel said the visit should have been a perfect opportunity to put many things right

“The visit could have been a chance to improve opportunities Nigerian Students get in negotiating about their own issues but we blew it”.

There has been allegations that National Association of Nigerian Students delegates who visited President Buhari were gifted some cash amount while returning back, a claim the Association through Mr Adeyemi Amoo, it’s National Public Relations Officer (PRO), dismissed as false.

Academic Staff Union of Universities has been on strike over under-funding of Nigerian Educations and issues bothering on alleged non-payment of members allowances.
