Nigerian music sensation, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has been added to the roster of performers for the 2024 Grammy Awards, marking the first time an African artist will grace the prestigious stage.

The Recording Academy disclosed this exciting news on Monday, revealing that Burna Boy, also known as the ‘African Giant,’ will showcase his talent on February 4 in Los Angeles.

In addition to Burna Boy, the star-studded lineup includes previously announced performers such as Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa, Olivia Rodrigo, Luke Combs, and Travis Scott.

A statement on the Grammys’ website confirmed the inclusion of Burna Boy, Luke Combs, and Travis Scott, emphasizing their participation in the upcoming awards ceremony airing live on CBS and Paramount+.

Burna Boy, who received four nominations for the 2024 Grammy Awards, is recognized in categories such as Best Melodic Rap Performance, Best Global Music Performance, Best African Music Performance, and Best Global Music Album for his outstanding work in “Sittin’ On Top Of The World,” “Alone,” “City Boys,” and “I Told Them,” respectively.

The 32-year-old artist previously secured the Best Global Music Album award for “Twice As Tall” at the 63rd Grammy Awards Premiere Ceremony in 2021.
