By Boniface Ihiasota, USA
In a recent development, the Ogun State Police Command has arraigned the renowned singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, on six counts of assault.
The talented “Zazu Zeh” crooner was arraigned at the Ifo High Court in Ogun State on Monday morning following his arrest on Friday, after resisting arrest when policemen stormed his office last Thursday.
This isn’t the end of Portable’s troubles, as the Force Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, stated in a tweet that the singer has more than six charges to face.
One of the charges includes the beating up of a man in Ota, who filed a petition to the Commissioner of Police in Ogun State.
Additionally, several pending cases of assaults and attacks have been reported against him, prompting further investigation.
Adejobi in his tweet said, “There are many pending cases of assaults on people and attacks, and he will be investigated because people have complained against him.
“So, there is no sentiment in law, let him appear in court, and allow the judge to listen to the charges against him. He has no constitutional immunity anyway.”
It’s clear that Portable has no constitutional immunity, and he will have to appear in court to face these charges.
As the saying goes, “there is no sentiment in law.” The judge will carefully listen to the charges against him, and justice will prevail.
