BREAKING: Elon Musk to Step Down as Twitter CEO After Losing Public Poll
By Boniface Ihiasota, USA
Elon Musk says he would oblige the public Poll asking him to step down as the Chief Executive Officer Twitter, gathered Excel Magazine International on Monday.
Elon Musk made the disclosure following Sunday night tweet he made, asking Twitter users, “Should I step down as head of Twitter? I will abide by the results of this poll.”
The poll, however, attracted more than 17 million voters in just 12 hours, with 57.5 per cent voting ‘Yes’.
Elon Musk has therefore revealed that he would abide by the result.
The latest controversy arose over a rule that prohibited users from linking to specific competing social media websites, such as Facebook, Instagram, and Mastodon.
Within a few hours, Twitter changed its stance, with Elon Musk writing that the policy had been “modified” to only suspend accounts “where that account’s *primary* goal is promoting competitors.
“Going forward, there will be a vote for major policy changes. My apologies. Won’t happen again,” he pleaded.
