As IG Announces SARS Dissolution, Nigerians Demand More Reforms

Nigerians have reacted in their numbers to the decision by the Federal government to dissolve Special Anti-Robbery Squad popularly known as SARS.

While some Nigerians commended the Buhari-led administration, others express doubts over the sincerity of the government. They demand an executive gazette and an end to Police brutality while bringing those confirmed of unprofessional conduct to book.

According to a Twitter handle @Topeakinyode, Police have kept brutalizing protesters
“After government announced #ENDSARS , a gazillion of policemen and Soldiers have besieged Ogbomosho in Oyo state and a teenager has been shot dead while two others are critically wounded” @Topeakinyode tweeted.
Another Twitter user @mohnice_ tweeted;
“The voice of the people is the voice of God as they say. The government finally respect the people’s voice and dissolved SARS. Let Buhari sign an executive order to this effect. Scrapping without an executive order to this effect has no force of law” #EndSARS

“If they are killing protesters in Ogbomosho, then they are killing protesters in every other state in Nigeria!!! Injustice to one is injustice to all!!! We have every right to protest and we will exercise it to the fullest!! Stop killing us!! @Mrmacaronii tweeted

This is coming despite assurances by the government on its readiness to ensure police reform
