Amidst Deadly Fighting, Nigerian Govt Begins Evacuation of Citizens in Sudan

The Nigerian Federal Government has taken measures to evacuate Nigerian students studying in Sudan, amidst deadly fighting between forces loyal to two rival generals, prompting foreign countries to evacuate their own nationals.
According to information at Excel Magazine lnternational disposal, the evacuation of approximately 5,500 Nigerians, including students stranded in Khartoum and other cities in Sudan, is set to begin on Wednesday.
To this end, the government has earmarked N150m to hire 40 luxurious buses to transport its citizens from Sudan to Cairo, Egypt.
As of now, some buses have arrived and the students are preparing to be evacuated from Sudan.
