Again, Gunmen Attack Imo Police Station, Kill Officer
Excel Breaking News has been informed of an attack on a police station in Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State by gunmen.
Although the police officers on duty were able to repel the attackers during the Friday late-night attack.
This medium, however, further gathered that a police mobile officer lost his life in the gunfight, which lasted for several hours.
Additionally, some of the attackers were reported to have fled with gunshot injuries. According to sources, the attackers threw explosives at the police station and opened fire on the officers upon their arrival.
According to a source,” Gunmen attacked Oguta 1 police division and killed one visiting mobile police officer.
“They threw explosives on the police station but they were engaged. They ran away with gunshot injuries with a minimal damage on the police facility.”
The spokesperson for the police in the state, Henry Okoye, while reacting to the incident said the attackers were repelled.
This came less than four days after Agwa and Umuaka police divisional headquarters were invaded with some of the non-state actors neutralised, exhibits recovered and policemen sustaining injuries.
