A Dutch musician is facing legal action after allegedly fathering hundreds of children through obsessive sperm donation.
Jonathan Jacob Meijer, aged 41, is accused by the Donorkind Foundation of deceiving women around the world with his actions, with estimates suggesting he could have fathered as many as 550 children.
Meijer was previously warned in 2017 by the Dutch Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology that he had fathered 102 children through various clinics in the Netherlands.
Despite being blacklisted, Meijer continued his donations overseas in Denmark and Ukraine, as well as offering his services through websites and social media.
The court case has been brought by Eva, a Dutch woman who had a child with Meijer in 2018.
She claims that had she known he had fathered so many children, she would never have chosen him as a sperm donor.
Eva, like many of the mothers affected by Meijer’s actions, is concerned about the potential consequences for her child.
She said, “Many mothers have told him he needs to stop, but nothing helps. So going to court is the only option I have to protect my child.”
This bizarre story has gained attention in the entertainment world, with Meijer’s actions seen as both shocking and somewhat comical.
However, the serious implications of his obsessive sperm donation cannot be ignored.
It remains to be seen what the outcome of the court case will be, but it is clear that Meijer’s actions have caused considerable harm and distress to many women and their children around the world.
