Adeleke Rejects Tribunal’s, Appeals  Decisions

Ademola Adeleke, the governor of Osun State, has disagreed with the electoral tribunal’s decision to annul his election and proclaim his rival the winner.

Additionally, he has stated that he will use the Court of Appeal to challenge the judgment.

According to Excelbreakingnews, the Osun State Governorship Election tribunal determined on Friday that All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Gboyega Oyetola was the election’s legitimate victor.

The tribunal further mandated that the certificate of return that had been given to Mr. Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) be withdrawn and given to Mr. Oyetola instead.

In his response, Mr. Adeleke referred to the verdict as “a miscarriage of justice.”
Olawale Rasheed, his spokeswoman, said that Mr. Adeleke criticized the tribunal’s decision to rule in favor of Mr. Oyetola on the over-voting issue, calling it “an unfair interpretation against the will of majority of voters.”

Mr. Adeleke will continue in office notwithstanding the tribunal’s decision until the dispute is resolved by higher courts.
