Adele Announces Break from Music After Current Concert Run
Adele has revealed plans to take an extended break from music after her current run of concerts, citing a desire to focus on other creative pursuits.
In an interview with German broadcaster ZDF, the star stated, “My tank is quite empty at the minute… I don’t have any plans for new music at all.”
Adele’s last album was released in 2021, and she has spent the past two years performing a weekend residency in Las Vegas, recently completing her 90th show.
The experience has been emotionally draining, with Adele admitting, “It’s really been an emotional exchange… I’m sure I’ll feel even more like that every night after the shows in Munich.”
The star’s Munich shows will be on a much larger scale than her Las Vegas residency, with 74,000 fans expected to attend each night in a specially built “pop-up” stadium.
The venue will feature an “Adele experience” with an English pub, a stage for a cover band, and stalls selling specially designed cocktails.
Despite the excitement surrounding her upcoming shows, Adele admitted that she struggles with the limelight and misses being anonymous. “I hate the fame side of it… I don’t think it ever gets normal,” she said.
Adele’s break from music will come after her current concert run, which includes a 10-date residency in Munich.
The shows are expected to be a huge success, with organizers aiming to set a Guinness World Record for the largest outdoor screen of all time.
