Nollywood actress Hilda Dokubo has declared her interest in vying for a political post in the forthcoming general elections through her social media pages today Wednesday, September 28, 2022.
The actress shared the news in a post that carries her picture and the political post she’s vying for, that is, member of the House of Representatives of the Asalga/Akulga Federal Constituency of Rivers State, Nigeria under the platform of the Labour Party (LP) via her official Instagram account.
She hails from Asari-Toru in Rivers State, Nigeria, and has been a proud supporter of the OBIdient movement prior to her declaration to contest under the LP, hence her caption, “My dear people, I write to apply…Yours OBIdiently”.
This declaration adds Hilda Dokubo to the likes of Nollywood actors and celebrities who have delved into politics and would be contesting in the 2023 general elections under different political parties and posts. This includes Funke Akindele-Deputy Governorship candidate, Lagos State-PDP; Tonto Dikeh-Deputy Governorship candidate, Rivers State-ADC; Yul Edochie-Presidential candidate-APGA, Olubankole Wellington aka Banky W- House of Representatives, Eti-Osa, Lagos State-PDP.
