The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had apprehended two top officials of Nigeria Correctional Service (NCS) also known as Prisons over alleged involvement in fraud which is in the tune of $1 million.
The officials arrested by the anti-graft agency are Emmanuel Oluwaniyi, a Deputy Controller of NCS and Hemeson Edson Edwin who is also a Deputy Controller of NCS.
Excel Magazine gathered from sources that they were arrested because the alleged roles they played in which saw Hope Olusegun, a prison inmate to swindle $1 milion while in detention.
It was gathered that the two officials exaggerated medical reports that led to Hope Olusegun being given a referral to be treated outside the Prison.
However, the inmate, Hope Olusegun was convicted of internet fraud and he is serving a 24 year jail term associated with his conviction.
